FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
At Brain Body Health, we know choosing a psychiatric provider is a big decision. Below are answers to some of the most common questions about our services, approach, and policies.
Do you accept insurance?
We are a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide you with a superbill after your visit, which you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement depending on your out-of-network benefits.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes. We provide both in-person psychiatric care in Merchantville, NJ and secure telehealth psychiatry sessions across New Jersey and Philadelphia. Telehealth visits are convenient, private, and HIPAA-compliant.
What happens during a new patient psychiatric evaluation?
Your first visit is a 60–75 minute comprehensive evaluation. We’ll discuss your mental health history, medical background, current concerns, and review labs if available. Together, we’ll create a personalized care plan that may include medication management, nutrition and lifestyle strategies, and supportive therapy.
Do you prescribe medication?
Yes. As an ANCC board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, Dana Sullivan can prescribe medication when it’s appropriate. Medication management is always combined with a holistic, whole-person approach that may also include nutrition guidance, stress management, and mind-body wellness.
What conditions do you treat?
We provide support for a wide range of mental health concerns, including:
- Anxiety and panic disorders
- Depression and mood disorders
- ADHD and focus challenges
- Insomnia and sleep problems
- Stress-related concerns
- Emotional imbalances connected to lifestyle or wellness
If you’re unsure whether we can help, please reach out for a consultation.
How long are appointments?
Our visits are intentionally longer than most traditional practices:
- New Patient Evaluation: 60–75 minutes
- Supportive Therapy or Follow-Up with Therapy: 60 minutes
- Brief Medication Check: 20–30 minutes
This gives us time to listen, answer questions, and work together on your healing plan.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Appointments can be scheduled directly through our secure patient portal, Simple Practice EHR. You may also call us at (856)-532-2063
What is your cancellation policy?
- 1st No-Show: No charge
- 2nd: 50% of visit fee charged
- 3rd & beyond: 100% of visit fee charged to the card on file
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice when canceling or rescheduling.
Do you collaborate with other healthcare providers?
Yes. We welcome collaboration with your primary care physician, therapist, or other specialists. Within the Merchantville Medical Wellness community, we maintain strong referral connections to ensure you receive comprehensive, team-based support.
